PTO & Pump kit mounting

Complete fitting of a PTO/pump kit on your tractor truck unit. The kit includes:

• Power take off (PTO)
• Pump and pump suspension
• Overflow valve
• Return oil filter
• Side mounted oil tank with cap
• Hydraulic hoses, quick couplings etc.
• Hydraulic oil

All manufactured parts will be primed and painted.

Separate engine on the HAMMAR

Separate Power Pack, for independent drive of the hydraulics, on the HAMMAR. The engine is a 4-cylinder diesel engine, with ~60 kW power and with 24 volt electrical system. The engine is directly driving a hydraulic pump, with 2x35 minute litres displacement. The engine automatically shuts down when overheating or at low oil pressure.

The following is included: 4-cylinder water cooled diesel engine, double piston pump, double overflow valve, return oil filter, hydraulic oil tank, approx 160 l and diesel tank approx. 60 l.

The power pack is completely fitted and built into a rigid frame with hatches for easy access and service. The hydraulics can be emergency stopped from the portable control box.

2 x 20' Centre Container Beam

The HAMMAR is equipped with a Centre Container Beam, perpendicular to the chassis and positioned in its centre. The beam has four retractable twist locks on its extremities. The extra beam allows simultaneous transport of two loaded 20' containers with high safety standard.

In addition, two HAMMAR Twin-Locks© are included, for connecting two empty or lightly loaded 20' containers for simultaneous lifting.

Automatic twist locks

All HAMMAR models can be fitted with semi automatic twist locks. The twist locks are powered by pneumatic cylinders. They are connected to open/close when the PTO is engaged/disengaged.

Automatic twist locks give shorter operating times, as the operator doesn’t have to walk around the vehicle to lock and unlock. Traffic safety is also greatly improved as driving with unlocked twist locks is impossible.

Remote Radio Control

A cordless radio control, model Åkerström, for all functions on the HAMMAR Sideloader. The portable transmitter is a one hand unit. The operator can overlook the operation from any position suitable. The complete handling operation is done quicker, because the driver can operate the Sideloader and secure the container, or do other necessary adjustments simultaneously.

The transmitter with it´s easy-to-read pictogram is kept in a charger/holder in the driver’s cabin during transport. Two rechargeable batteries, a 24V charger and a transparent protection are included. The unit is using the EU-standard frequency 434.050-434.775 MHz and complies with all pertinent EU standards.

Our standard cable remote control, with joysticks, is also included in the delivery and can be plugged in within seconds, should the need arise.

HOPE - Electronic eye

HAMMAR Optical Positioning Equipment. An electronic system on the HAMMAR, based on two optical sensors, which will read the position of the container to be picked up and will light up a green light at the chassis front end. The indication light can be seen by the driver in the rear view mirror. Accuracy is ± 2 cm.

HAMMAR Safety +

The HAMMAR Safety+ is an advanced safety monitoring system, built with a central PLC system that guarantees safe lifting. The mass of the load and the load position is continuously monitored in relation to the sideloader trailer and the sideloader support legs positions, preventing the sideloader from entering a lift position, which may put man and machine in danger.

If the load enters an area where danger can occur, the operator is only allowed to bring the load back into a safe operating position.

The HAMMAR Safety + system is equipped with a display on which a number of variables are shown. The operator can continuously monitor the mass of the load, the load distribution between the cranes and the position of the load and support legs. On the display the operator can also see the total work hours, total number of lifts and the present system voltage. HAMMAR Safety+ allows the crane arms to be operated before placing the support legs on the ground, thereby giving easy access to connecting the hooks to the container corner castings.

High stacking capability

The HAMMAR can be delivered with stacking capability. Two extra hydraulic support legs are mounted on the non lifting side to stabilize when stacking, together with extra outreach crane arms.

The HAMMAR can stack one container, of any height, on top of an 8'6" (2.591 mm) high container on the ground, minimum height of the fifth wheel being 1250.

Maximum stacking capacity is 30 tonnes.

Spare wheel

A complete spare wheel with winch and bracket mounted on the HAMMAR chassis.

An easily accessible spare wheel is mounted on the HAMMAR for quick replacement on the road.

ADR-equipment

The HAMMAR is delivered fully ADR-equipped for transport of dangerous goods. All cables are ADR-approved. Two 6 kg powder extinguishers in cabinets, stop scotches with holders and dangerous-goods plate will also be included.

Axle pressure gage

Using air suspension, one can easily measure the axle pressure. As the air-bellow pressure is always proportional to the load on the axle, one can measure the bellow pressure with a gage scaled in tonnes. The gage is filled with silicone-oil to withstand vibrations and is positioned, well protected, in the aluminum compartment at the rear of the HAMMAR. Range of measurement is max. 10 tonnes per axle.

Central lubrication

Complete installation of an automatic centralised lubrication system with an air pressure driven piston pump mounted on the HAMMAR, which supplies all grease points on the cranes as well as on the trailer. Gives exact dosage and distribution of the lube with adjustable intervals. The grease reservoir is made from stainless steel and has a visual monitoring of the grease level. The system is controlled from a user interface mounted on the trailer. The control unit has LED-lights and surveys the pump function, the grease level in the reservoir and also has pressure alarm and low level alarm on lubricant level etc.. At power brakes (e.g. disconnecting the trailer) the lubrication program will always continue from previous point through memory storage.

Drawbar coupling

Complete drawbar coupling is fitted on the HAMMAR. The VBG 795V is an all-round coupling for heavy centre axle trailers, multi axle trailers and dollies. Suitable for rigid as well as hinged drawbars.

Brake, electrical and ABS-connections at the rear, are included. The coupling is manually or automatically maneuvered and will be centre mounted, about 950 mm above the ground. The centre of the coupling, lengthwise, will be flush with the rear end of the HAMMAR superstructure or according to your request.

Tool box, alloy

Tool boxes in a choice of sizes can be fitted. The tool box is made of anodised aluminum plate and the lid, the lock and the hinges are made from stainless steel. The box is fitted with double seals, both on the lid and on the box. The bottom of the box is protected by a heavy duty, laminated, wooden board.

Automatic extra support legs

The two extra support legs on the opposite side of the handling side are fully automatic and are maneuvered from the remote control box.

An excellent aid giving shorter operating times when stacking containers often.

Hub odometer

Hub odometer A hub odometer, integrated in the hub cap. A practical detail for identifying service intervals etc.. The hub cap and the odometer are a closed unit, no risk of water inside the hub. The counter is fitted inside the unit. The hub odometer has a very low height, which eliminates damages. It will be mounted on the centre axle, on the right hand side. Other positioning on request.

Heavy duty Kit

For markets with tough running conditions, the HAMMAR is equipped with the following:

• Two rigid, 40 mm thick, light plastic plates put in a holder on the HAMMAR. These are for placing under the main stabiliser feet, when handling containers on soft ground.

• Another two plastic plates (as above) for the extra stabilisers on the non handling side are being mounted [only high stacking models].

• The main chassis frame is reinforced.

• The rear under-run protection is made from steel (standard is aluminum) and it is reinforced.

• The lamp brackets, at the rear end, are reinforced and have a steel grid covering the tail lights. It protects the lights from being stolen and/or damaged.

• The bogie is equipped with multi leaf springs.

• The HAMMAR is covered with rust preventive oil for ocean-freight.

Top spreader CO12

Hydraulic top spreader for handling of 20' -40' ISO-containers. The spreader is telescopic and can be set for any container size from 20’ to 40’ just like the cranes. The cylinders in the spreader are driven by a parallel pump to get exactly the same movement on the spreader as for the cranes. The container is lifted in the top corner castings. Safety: proximity switches allow locking of the twist locks only when in correct position. The locking is done by hydraulic cylinders and are maneuvered from the remote control. Using a top spreader gives shorter handling times and is a great help when handling many containers.

Maximum lifting capacity is 33 tonnes.

Advertisement plate

An advertising plate mounted on rear support leg on the HAMMAR 190 model, suitable for company logos and marketing slogans. The plate is made of aluminium and is being painted in a colour of your choice. The text on the plate is not included in the price.

Extra plastic footplates

Two footplates of 40 mm thick recycled plastic. Size 500x500 mm. The plates can be placed under the HAMMAR support legs, when operating on soft ground. The pressure on the ground is then dramatically reduced. The plates are equipped with handles, and the weight is only 9.5 kg each. A holder is mounted on the HAMMAR chassis.
